Practice Manager
Our practice
manager, Diane Marshall, is
available to help you with any
administrative or non-medical
aspects of the practice. She is also
available to discuss any comments or
suggestions that you may have. You
can write to her at our
Long Crendon
Surgery or telephone her on
01844 208228.
receptionists
Our receptionists
are available to help you. They have
extensive knowledge of the
facilities and services in the
practice. If you are unsure of
anything, please ask and if you wish
to speak to them in private, please
say so.
PRACTICE NURSES & HEALTH CARE
ASSISTANTS
Practice nurses and health care
assistants are available for
consultation at all three surgeries.
They provide a number of services
including general nursing care and
health advice. They also take a lead
role in managing chronic diseases
such as high blood pressure,
diabetes and asthma. Appointments should be
made through the receptionist.
community team
The practice works closely with
the district nurses who care for
patients in their own homes. They
liaise with other agencies e.g.
Social Services, Home Care,
Physiotherapy and Occupational
Therapy. They help with social needs
and bereavement support. They give
advice and support to those caring
for relatives at home. They can be
contacted via the receptionist at
your surgery.
HEALTH VISITORS
The practice has close links with
the Health Visitors, who are
available to give advice and support
to mothers and families. This may
include social and emotional needs
as well as health matters.
The health visitors
for all three surgeries can be
contacted on 01844 212353.
MIDWIVES
The midwives are available to
provide maternity services in each
of the surgeries. Please make
appointments via the receptionist.
The doctors offer ante-natal and
post-natal maternity care, in
co-operation with the midwives. The
doctors do not offer home
confinements but if you wish to
consider this option please discuss
this with your midwife.
CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST
Dr
Helen Beinart regularly sees
children from the whole practice at
the Thame site. She sees children up
to the age of 16 or 18 (depending on
whether they are still in fulltime
education) who have been referred by
their GP or Health Visitor. Dr Beinart works with children and
young people who have
emotional/behavioural or
relationship difficulties.
